What We Have Done
Over the past 8 years, helloSTEAM has been investing into the local community and giving back to our teachers, schools and families.
helloSTEAM Projects
Community Involvement
We've hosted over 80 free community events, including invention classes, car camps, and maker faires. These events have provided hands-on opportunities for people of all ages to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and immerse themselves in the exciting world of STEAM.
COVID 2020 Donation of Face Mask/Shields
During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we coordinated over 200 local makers to produce and donate 2,500 masks and 5,000 face shields to first responders. This effort showcased the power of community and innovation in meeting urgent needs.
School & Teacher Support
We’ve facilitated 72 STEAM-focused field trips and programs, sponsored 5 robotics teams, and provided 34 educators with specialized STEAM training. These efforts have enriched students' learning and empowered teachers to inspire the next generation of innovators.
Child Care Support for Single Parents
We've had the privilege of supporting 25 families by providing over $27,000 in childcare assistance, ensuring their children have access to high-quality, STEAM-based care. This initiative has allowed these young learners to engage in enriching educational experiences while giving parents peace of mind knowing their children are in a nurturing, learning-focused environment.
STEAM Camp Scholarships
Through the generosity of our supporters, helloSTEAM has provided $23,956 in scholarships and partial scholarships to 126 families. This crucial funding has opened doors for students to participate in our STEAM programs, giving them the opportunity to explore, learn, and thrive in an environment designed to inspire future innovators.
3D Printer Donations & Training
We proudly donated 27 state-of-the-art 3D printers to local teachers, empowering them to bring cutting-edge technology into their classrooms. To maximize their use, we provided comprehensive training, equipping educators with the skills to build, operate, and integrate 3D printing into their curriculum, sparking creativity and enhancing student learning.
